I know myself that when the warm weather comes along, there’s nothing to beat a nice relaxing evening spent on a garden patio relaxing with family or friends, or to have some personal time with a drink in one hand and a good book in the other. If you would like a dedicated outdoor space where you can unwind, hold conversation or entertain, I can offer a patio laying service where I personally undertake all phases of the proposed installation.
Working out of Farnham, my combined driveway company and landscaping company covers Godalming, Hindhead and all Hampshire and Surrey areas.

Some of my customers use my patio laying service to add curb appeal and resale value to their properties. The exterior of your home will always be the first thing that a prospective buyer will see, and a patio can be persuasive enough to get interested parties looking at the inside of your property.
To keep your patio private, I also supply and erect garden fencing.
My advice is to always have a new patio laid by a professional tradesperson. I personally own the tools and equipment needed to do the job correctly, so my customers automatically save on hire costs. All patios come with a five-year guarantee, and I can lay in a choice of different surfacing materials.
Block paving, natural stone and porcelain paving are all good choices for a new patio, particularly when it comes to the number of design permutations.
I can lay more traditional materials, like york stone and concrete flagstones.
Preparation – Checks are made to identify underground utilities in case cable or pipework needs relocating. I mark out the workspace using your choice of slabs then use a line and pegs to create a perimeter that is slightly larger than the overall size of the patio. This gives me space to create a solid foundation./p>
Excavation – Next, I use hand tools or a mini digger to excavate the ground and leave a fall to encourage surface water runoff. I always dig to a depth that suits the material I am using for patio laying, usually between 100mm and 200mm with an extra 50mm added to allow for slab depths and mortar.
Sub-Bases – I lay sub-bases for patio installations in Farnham, Godalming and Hindhead, and in the surrounding areas, using quality aggregates and sands. I bring a plate compactor to site which helps to keep the sub-base flat and lined up with the marker pegs. I compact the sub-base several times in total.
Mortar and Slabs – After remarking my workspace, I create a mortar mix for the slabs to sit on. Consistency of the mix is extremely important and put that slab in position before adjusting it so that it sits flush with the line and pegs set out earlier.
Patio Laying – I begin the remainder of my patio laying work by positioning the first row of slabs in the direction of the fall. Using a level as I work, I continue laying the remaining slabs in the same way as the first row.
Jointing the Slabs – After leaving the mortar to dry for up to 48 hours, I remove the spacers and begin jointing the slabs. This is one of the most important parts of the process because jointing gives a patio its finishing touch. I smooth my jointing, clear any excess and, after drying, apply a protective sealant.
